Next Paige Foundation — Board Member Role Description

The Next Paige Foundation is committed to cultivating creative excellence, expanding access to arts education, and building community‑centered programming that uplifts youth and emerging talent across the Kansas City region. Our Board of Directors plays a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring operational integrity, and supporting the growth of our programs, partnerships, and community impact.

Board members serve as ambassadors of the Foundation’s mission, offering leadership, expertise, and guidance across organizational priorities including programming, fundraising, governance, and community engagement. This role is at‑will, and the Foundation reserves the right to adjust or conclude board service as needed to support organizational health and alignment.

Current Recruitment Focus: 3 New Board Members

We are seeking three dynamic leaders with specialized experience in Events, Marketing, or Finance to strengthen the Foundation’s operational capacity and expand our impact.

1. Events Leadership

Ideal for individuals with experience in:

  • Event production, logistics, or creative direction

  • Community programming or youth‑centered events

  • Vendor management, scheduling, and on‑site coordination

Impact: Strengthen our showcases, masterclasses, summer programs, and community events through structured planning and elevated execution.

2. Marketing & Communications

Ideal for individuals with experience in:

  • Brand strategy, digital marketing, or content creation

  • Community outreach and audience engagement

  • Social media management or storytelling for mission‑driven organizations

Impact: Expand visibility, deepen community engagement, and support creator‑driven storytelling that amplifies the Foundation’s mission.

3. Finance & Fund Development

Ideal for individuals with experience in:

  • Budgeting, financial oversight, or nonprofit accounting

  • Fundraising strategy, donor relations, or grant development

  • Financial compliance and reporting

Impact: Strengthen financial sustainability, support fundraising initiatives, and ensure responsible stewardship of resources.

General Board Responsibilities

All board members, regardless of specialty, contribute to:

  • Strategic planning and organizational oversight

  • Attendance at board meetings and key Foundation events

  • Committee participation and cross‑team collaboration

  • Advocacy for the Foundation’s mission within the community

  • Support for fundraising, partnerships, and program visibility

  • Reviewing program progress, challenges, and operational needs

Board members are expected to attend two summer site visits, support the Summer Showcase, and participate in ongoing evaluation of availability, capacity, and committee responsibilities.

Commitment

  • Monthly board meetings

  • Committee involvement aligned with expertise

  • Active participation in Foundation events and initiatives

  • At‑will service with mutual accountability and alignment
