The Midwest Chamber Ensemble is a Kansas City-based 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to the performance of Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Ensemble music of the classical tradition with the goal of providing a space for early career professionals and music student to have the opportunity to perform chamber works outside of an educational setting.

The Midwest Chamber Ensemble prepares its members for future career opportunities by creating a professional environment, providing networking opportunities, and programming a wide variety of repertoire while simultaneously presenting its audience with quality concerts.

MCE is currently seeking a board member to serve as the treasurer. The treasurer performs the following duties which take approximately 4 hours per month:

路      Prepares and presents monthly financials for board meetings

路      Collaborates with the artistic director in making financial projections for programming

路      Writes and issues checks for each musician and paid staff member for every performance

路      Prepares tax returns on annual basis

路      Prepares and sends tax deduction letter to donors each January

路      Attends one-hour monthly board meetings (usually 10 per year)

路      Ensures that change is available for cash paying patrons.

路      Board members are expected to purchase tickets to the concerts (either individually or a season ticket) and support the organization by making a monetary donation on an annual basis.

 The treasurer serves a 3-year term and is eligible to extend that term for an additional 3 years, per board guidelines.
