This Business Leaders Board plans and executes the Geeks for Kids and Invent for Good programs’ business functions.  The members of the Business Team in concert with LEARN’s Board of Directors:

·       Define and develop the Geeks for Kids program

·       Plan and conduct Geeks for Kids’ events

·       Recruit recipients

·       Recruit and manage volunteers

·       Plan and execute marketing, social media and public relations programs

·       Coordinate and execute all fundraising for Geeks for Kids including:

o   Seeking grants

o   Recruiting sponsors

o   Recruiting individual donors

o   Creating and supporting crowdfunding campaigns

·       Develop and execute management processes, documentation and training

·       Provide legal guidance

·       Manage Geeks for Kids’ finances

This team has four sub-teams; these include:

·       Event Management – This sub-team will help coordinate:

o   Build events

o   Delivery Days

o   Outreach events

·       Fundraising & Outreach – While fundraising and outreach are joint responsibilities shared by all members of this the Geeks for Kids’ Business Leaders Board and Design Team as well as LEARN’s Board of Directors, this team:

o   Works with the LEARN Board to build fundraising and outreach for Geeks for Kids and Invent for Good

o   Develops a plan to build awareness

o   Strengthens community ties

o   Creates the program’s fundraising plan

o   Helps marketing draft promotional materials

o   And, promotes the programs’ crowdfunding campaign and other outreach events

·       Marketing – This team will produce and/or recruit professionals to help us produce the content for:

o   Social media

o   Community outreach

o   Public relations

o   Videos

·       Operations – This team will fill in the vital roles of:

o   Finance Manager

o   Team Coordinator/Secretary
