The Global Montessori Academy (GMA) Board of Directors is seeking candidates to serve on the Board for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
In order to maintain a well-rounded and engaged board, we are particularly recruiting for individuals with expertise in the following areas:
Education law
Child development/psychology/Montessori education
Facilities management/construction/architecture
Human resources/employee benefits
Insurance
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
Board governance
Accounting/finance/investments
Fundraising/development
Emergency planning and response
Board members serve a minimum term of 2 years. Some of the board's key responsibilities include:
Guiding the organization's strategic goals and assisting the Executive Director in making major policy decisions
Providing for the financial needs of the organization, including review and approval of an annual budget and Form 990
Advocacy and promoting fundraising efforts in order to ensure the financial stability of the school
Board meeting attendance as required by the Bylaws (6 official meetings per year, plus occasional committee work as needed)
