Members of the Board of Ambassadors (BOA) commit to serving a one-year term and supporting the mission of the American Cancer Society. Each individual is asked to meet a minimum give/get commitment of $10,000, which can be fulfilled through sponsorships, underwriting, foursome sales, and auction item contributions. Members are also expected to attend the annual Golf Classic, where they will serve as ambassadors, helping to elevate the event’s visibility and impact. By allowing the use of their name, company affiliation, and photo, BOA members help promote the event and its purpose. Above all, members are passionate advocates who are committed to advancing ACS's mission and expanding its reach in the Kansas City community.
Serving on the BOA requires an estimated time investment of 1–2 hours per month from January through September. This includes monthly BOA meetings, follow-up on key action items, and bi-monthly one-on-one check-ins with an ACS liaison to review goals, progress, and opportunities for impact.
By joining the BOA, you become part of the American Cancer Society’s Distinguished Events—a national platform that harnesses ACS’s brand strength to host more than 180 signature events each year, including galas, golf tournaments, and community-driven experiences. These events generate vital funds for patient support, research, and advocacy, while engaging business and community leaders from across the country. As a BOA member, you’ll help amplify this movement and ensure the voices and needs of our diverse communities are reflected in every step we take.
